Awards celebrate the accomplishments of those achieving great success in their industries, and we would like to celebrate the numerous YEC members who have received awards in the past few months for their notable contributions. Below, we highlight three members and the awards they have received.

Dr. Roshawnna Novellus received The Women Who Mean Business Award

Dr. Roshawnna Novellus, co-founder of capital management company Bootstrap Capital, received one of the most notable awards for women business owners in metro Atlanta, the Women Who Mean Business Award. The award was given by the Atlanta Business Chronicle on October 20, 2016. It recognizes 20 women who are shaping Atlanta’s business marketplace by making significant strides in their careers and making a difference in the community. Novellus was honored for her dedication to advancing the issues of financial mindfulness, and advancing the connection between financial education and underrepresented groups.

Bella Hughes’ company Shaka Tea selected as finalist for BevNet’s New Beverage Showdown

Hawaiian iced tea brand Shaka Tea, led by co-founder and YEC member Bella Hughes, was selected as one of five finalists by a panel of beverage industry judges during BevNet’s New Beverage Showdown in December. Shaka Tea is the first line of ready-to-drink Hawaiian iced teas brewed from antioxidant-rich māmaki, which is only found and grown in Hawaii. The BevNet showdown is an opportunity to pitch beverage brands to the BevNET live audience, consisting of beverage companies, investors, consultants, brokers and suppliers, and the judging panel. You can watch the final round and hear the judges’ feedback, here. Shaka Tea was also named one of three winners of Food Vision USA’s 2016 trailblazers challenge.

Peter Kozodoy presented with the the Millennial Move Makers Award

GEM Advertising executive and co-founder Peter Kozodoy was presented with the Millennial Move Makers Award in November. The award was given by the Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce and commemorates outstanding millennials doing business and working for the good of the community in the Greater New Haven area. GEM Advertising is a New Haven-based communications and marketing agency dedicated to growing midsize to enterprise brands using exceptional internal and external communications strategies. Kozodoy is passionate about improving human communications, building business empires and inspiring other entrepreneurs.
