LOS ANGELES — Online clothing retailer Nasty Gal is filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy and could soon be up for sale.
Founder Sophia Amoruso is also resigning from her role as executive chairwoman, according to Recode.
Amoruso founded the Los Angeles-based retailer in 2006 and quickly grew the online business to $100 million in sales in 2012. Her New York Times bestseller “#Girlboss” also helped Nasty Gal attract a strong millennial fan base.
