
WASHINGTON — After Groupon tersely announced it will buy the shambling remnants of daily deals competitor LivingSocial Inc., one big question remained: What on earth happens next?
The answer is nothing, at least for now.
Groupon spokesman Bill Roberts told me there are no layoffs planned for LivingSocial’s 180 remaining employees (remember when it had about 5,000?) and LivingSocial will remain headquartered in D.C. for the near term. It has about 135 employees here.
