PORTLAND — Sen. Ron Wyden wants to know why female entrepreneurs get such a small slice of business loans.

He’s not alone. The Democrat held a roundtable discussion Monday with around a dozen women business owners, including Blue Star Donuts’ Katie Poppe, Handful’s Jennifer Ferguson and Switchboard’s Mara Zapeda. A majority said they had struggled to get bank financing, despite positive cash flow and profitability.
