Earlier this week, a small group of YEC members met at Maman Soho in New York City for an evening of dinner, drinks and fondue making. YEC members had exclusive after-hours access to the entire restaurant, indulging in cocktails, french cuisine and invaluable conversation and connections.
The event began with a cocktail reception, featuring a specialty cocktail for the evening — Maman’s Paloma — along with canapés in the front portion of the restaurant. As the evening wore on, members were seated in the back, raw space of the restaurant which is overlooked by the kitchen.
Members were then able to participate in a fondue workshop, as the Maman cook demonstrated how to make a traditional French fondue and encouraged members to make their own in pots provided at the table. The fun event fostered the perfect atmosphere for the founders to share business challenges and offer each other solutions, advice, and support.
Dinner for the evening was of course three cheese fondue, served with roasted vegetables, herbed chicken and french croutons. There was also spiced pear and almond fruit tart along with Nutella brownies for dessert.
Founders in attendance included Richard Zelson of MyStream, Laura Mignott of DigitalFlash, Jared Christopherson of YellowHammer, Stephen Bailey of ExecOnline, Ismael Wrixen of FE Internaitonal, Inc., Lauren Perkins of Perks Consulting, Jeremy Linder of NOMI BEAUTY, Jayme Smaldone of Mighty Mug, Eddie Geller of Tinybeans, Ian Wishingrad of BigEyedWish, LLC, Peter Korbel of Blender Workspace, Jason Sochol of TVP NYC, and Kristen Drapesa of EcoHabitude, Inc.
The evening was co-hosted by our partners at Andela. Andela builds the next generation of global technology leaders and places them as full-time distributed team members at your company. Members can check out more on the marketplace here.
